 June 2008 - Project Approved

Project Approved! On Tuesday, June 24, 2008, the Oyster Bay Town Board voted unanimously in favor of Stop & Shop’s plans to build a new supermarket on the corner of Main Street & Motor Avenue. As many of you know, this has been a long process. However, in the end, thanks to the tremendous support of the Farmingdale community, particularly the 2,300-plus household members of the Citizens for a New Liberty, the town board gave the overwhelming majority of Farmingdale residents what they wanted.

Stop & Shop is privileged to be granted this opportunity to join the Farmingdale community and looks forward to finally bringing the type of first-class shopping experience that the residents of Farmingdale truly deserve and will enjoy for many years to come. Many thanks to the Farmingdale community for your past and continued support.
